MARKSA, talks about its experience
with SchemELECT and FTZ-Panel 3D

MARKSA is a Swiss company that manufactures cooling solutions for various industrial equipment.

Hakan M., Electrical Design Manager testifies to his use of software SchemELECT and FTZ-Panel 3D :

"Our previous electrical CAD software had recurring anomalies and required a lot of time to finalize the projects.
After a comparative study, we changed for SchemELECT software because it was the most adapted to our needs and had an efficient hotline service.

<emIndeed, we produce a large number of products depending on the adjustments required by our customers, i.e. more than 200 different projects per year. These specifications require us to be very reactive in the realization of our electrical and manufacturing files.

Until now, we have used the simplified CABI module of SchemELECT . But a more advanced internal and external demand now requires to treat the subject on a real 3D.

We have selected FTZ-Panel 3D because it is complementary to SchemELECT and allows to quickly establish :
- the layout of the components in 3D
- wire routing and lengths, especially to define bundles

The implementation of FTZ-Panel 3D was operational in a few days."

Hugo B, head of the design office, answers our questions:

Why use a dedicated P&ID software ?

As soon as you want to develop a process, the P&ID is an essential and crucial step. It is necessary to be able to easily define the process on plan, to make it evolve, to enrich it, to share it. Faced with the challenges of developing our business, we had to turn to a reliable and efficient tool.

Why choose SchemPID ?

Compared to other solutions we have tried, SchemPID offers the great advantage of allowing editing, modification, and especially synchronization of equipment lists and bills of material with the drawings. It is a real comfort to be able to have these two essential tools in the design and manufacture of a machine working simultaneously. As for the rest, it is easy to learn, and all the employees can work with shared libraries, which allows us to harmonize our productions.

What do users do with SchemPID ?

Users edit P&IDs, lists and BOMs. We will develop the datasheets in a second time. We are also in the testing phase to edit our site preparation lists in the same way as we can edit an equipment list.

Who are the P&IDs intended for?

The P&IDs are primarily intended for those involved in the development and modification of our machines: customers, project managers, engineers and technicians. In general, they are made available in PDF format to any user of our units thanks to a QR code system.

What do you think of the FTZ service (technical support, training)?

The FTZ service was present and relevant in all phases of the implementation of our new tool. At the time of the choice of the tool we had clear and detailed presentations. At the time of the deployment, the technical service was available for each step of the installation of the software in our computer system. At the time of the handover we were able to organize a complete training over three days. In addition, the technical support team responds to our requests for technical details or additional training.

The education sector trains students with SchemBAT software

The URMA PACA campus of the Chamber of Trades and Crafts brings together many training courses for building from CAP to BAC+3.
The Digne-les-Bains CFAR branch provides apprenticeship training for the CAP and BP (Professional Certificate) of the electrical subsidiary.
The establishment has obtained licenses for the electrical CAD software SchemBAT to train students in good practices in the building electricity sector.

Teacher, Franck Q. testifies:
We selected the SchemBAT software for our electrical sector, because it seemed to us the most complete both for the educational aspect and for the job.

After training at FTZ in the use of the SchemBAT software, our teachers in turn train the students on concrete projects: From the plan of a house, they design a standardized electrical installation on SchemBAT: layout, wiring, diagram and cabinet.
They define high currents/low currents and add KNX home automation devices for energy management, lights, shutters, ...
Then they put their electrical studies into practice, by wiring a 3D cell with false ceilings, walls and floor.

SchemBAT allows them to use electrical installation design software in real conditions, in the same way as if they were in a professional environment.

Other establishments have also chosen the SchemBAT software: High schools, CFA, CFAI, CFAR…

HRS testifies about its experience

with SchemPID software

The media are increasingly reporting on developments in the production of low-carbon energy, particularly in the transport sector.
The solution of the electric vehicle with battery faces the problems of charging time and limited autonomy.
Hydrogen, with its fuel cell, is an alternative that is developing and that solves these two points, while being emission-free and with a truly renewable energy.

But in order to carry out hydrogen charging, it is necessary to provide access and to cover the territory. This is where HRS comes in with its famous filling stations.

HRS or "Hydrogen Refueling Solutions" is the first French company to mass-produce refueling stations for fuel cell electric vehicles of large capacities (200 kg to 2 tons). It is aimed at all types of vehicles but also at the industrial sector.

To design its equipment and associated processes, HRS' technical department has equipped itself with SchemPID software published by FTZ.

Amaury N., from HRS testifies:
About a year ago, CAD software SchemPID was integrated into the studies, to create our piping and instrumentation drawings. SchemPID allows us to have up-to-date and standardized P&ID plans. SchemPID automatically extracts lists and nomenclatures related to schemas for distribution to the various people involved. The training promulgated by FTZ, was carried out by an expert of the company in order to meet our needs most adequately. It allowed us to define the bases of the schemas and the desired lists.
The support department is also responsive and attentive to our requests. SchemPID is well adapted to our process and we plan to extend its use to other applications in our company.

Atlantique Industrie Group is equipped with

SchemPID software

Atlantique Industrie Group is organized around 3 poles: Engineering, Services and Distribution and proposes solutions and services in the field of water (potabilization, waste water) and waste (valorization, transformation, energy).

Théo D. in charge of the design office software, explains :
Atlantique Industrie Group builds complete water or waste treatment plants, or responds to specific process problems (Hygienisation / Relevage / Dehydration). We carry out the studies, the realizations, the start-ups and the after-sales service of our installations. We also offer equipment and skid rental solutions in plug&play. We also work for quarries, irrigation and sea water.
To produce P&IDs, equipment lists and functional analyses for automation, we used general drawing software and ExcelTM. The main problem with this solution was the lack of linkage between the different software packages, which required us to check the correspondence of the information "by hand" with the risk of errors in certain orders.
Currently, SchemPID  is used regularly by 5 people. Other members of the team will be trained on certain aspects of the software or on its entirety in the coming months. The database has been centralised on a server for common use.
SchemPID allows us to obtain a relevant result as well as to export our lists of equipment, instruments, pipes and valves. This is then passed on to our fitters and automation engineers and of course to our customers. It also allows us to cross-check our information in a quality approach.
The big advantage of SchemPID is that it is designed to draw P&IDs by integrating intelligence. It is a powerful tool that updates information automatically, in both directions, and allows us to gather in one place most of the information we need for design, site and after-sales service.
As far as FTZ's service is concerned, the two training sessions we had were clear and precise, and the trainer answered our questions on the day. I also appreciate the reactivity of your support, whether it be for problem solving or technical questions. This is a change from the large IT maintenance platforms I often deal with.
It is also reassuring to know that the software is still evolving and that you regularly integrate additional functions.

"The choice for SchemELECT was made after several presentations to different departments. SchemELECT was and still is the one that best meets our needs and our use.
SchemELECT is used by about fifteen people in the Tabelec department for the production of electrical cabinets, but also in other branches of the Clemessy group. It is one of the software packages used by the group when customers do not require another CAD product.

This software suits us, especially as we can adapt it to our way of working. Several important advantages are also offered, including: ease of managing indices, the provision of common databases (used for centralising development information), intelligence in the creation of electrical diagrams (automatic management of Bills of materials, terminal blocks and wires).

FTZ provided us with dedicated 5-day training sessions which are very suitable even for people who are not particularly familiar with the software. They were beneficial for a quick and optimised learning curve.
As far as the maintenance service is concerned, the exchanges are direct with the FTZ team and we always get quick answers to the various questions. "

The company NGSO SPIDER equips itself with

SchemBAT software

NGSO SPIDER is one of the leaders in the field of electrical prefabrication thanks to the concept of pre-wiring called electrical octopus or spider. It offers solutions for the housing and tertiary sectors for professionals and individuals.
This activity requires CAD software to carry out studies of electrical octopuses and to prepare for manufacture. After a comparative study and to replace its software which was no longer evolving, the company SPIDER turned to FTZ and more particularly the  SchemBAT Octopus software to carry out this activity.

Mr. Lionel L, designer in the Electrical Design Office, says that :
«SchemBAT Octopus is a software well adapted to our activity. It is easy to use, especially in terms of lengths, lengths and choice of wire colours,... . It has an advantage with its automated functions such as measurements for example.
When we acquired the software, we received a 3-day training session that was complete and focused on our needs. On the other hand, as soon as I come across a specific case to be dealt with, I contact the FTZ maintenance department who respond instantly and provide a quick solution."
