Based in Bailleul in the Nord department, AX Group designs and manufactures industrial equipment focused on energy efficiency. The SME, with a workforce of about 40 employees, operates through complementary brands: AX System, a specialist in high-pressure cleaning and misting for power plants (thermal and nuclear); AX Solar Robot, which cleans photovoltaic panels and specializes in artificial fog and humidification systems; and PEGASE, a specialist in fuel transportation and distribution. To meet the technical requirements of these industrial activities, the AX Group design office has chosen SchemELECT, the electrical CAD software published by FTZ Informatique Industrielle.
A limited previous tool, a clear need for automation
Before adopting SchemELECT, the AX Group engineering department was using a competing software program and spent a significant amount of time on manual tasks, particularly document generation. According to Jason D., this situation made it necessary to find a more efficient solution: “We were looking for a solution capable of automating our design work, ensuring the reliability of our data, and saving us time on repetitive tasks.”
SchemELECT at the Heart of the Engineering Department
Today, SchemELECT plays a central role in AX Group’s workflow. The tool is used at every stage of an electrical project’s lifecycle, from the design phase through to production preparation. Jason D. confirms this: “SchemELECT has become a central tool in our design office. It supports us from design through to production preparation. ”
A concrete example illustrates this contribution to day-to-day operations: the automatic generation of bills of materials and manufacturing documents. Whereas these tasks were previously a source of errors and wasted time, they are now more reliable and faster. According to Jason D., the quantified result is: “We estimate the time savings to be between 20 and 30 percent, depending on the complexity of the project.”
A common foundation that streamlines internal communication
Beyond the engineering department itself, SchemELECT has a positive impact on collaboration across departments. According to Jason D., “Using a shared database and standardized documents facilitates communication between the engineering department, purchasing, and the shop floor,” thereby reducing back-and-forth communication and the risk of misalignment between teams.
FTZ- 3D Panel : The Next Step
Building on this positive experience, AX Group has also decided to integrate FTZ-Panel 3D into its software environment. This decision was driven by the tool’s native integration with SchemELECT, its 3D design capabilities, and the potential for further productivity gains. The rollout is currently underway, as the team builds proficiency with the tool.
FTZ support is considered high-quality
The transition to new business software always involves a learning curve. AX Group is no exception, but Jason D. emphasizes that the investment in training quickly pays for itself: “FTZ’s support is top-notch. The teams are available, attentive, and responsive. Getting up to speed requires an investment in training, but it quickly pays for itself.”
For AX Group,SchemELECT has established itself as electrical software that delivers real added value. Jason D. sums it up: “SchemELECT is a powerful tool that brings real added value to our design work. As with any advanced business software, it requires a learning curve, but the benefits far outweigh that investment.”
