BlueSpine is an innovative company that designs and manufactures products for the treatment of corrosion in reinforced and prestressed concrete structures. Their solutions can be used to stop steel corrosion in both rehabilitation and construction projects, and thus prevent the structural failures associated with this pathology.

In particular, BlueSpine has developed a dedicated cathodic protection controller that offers a solution tailored to the needs of different structures.

For electrical design and cabinet layout, BlueSpine has chosen FTZ’s complementary SchemELECT and FTZ-Panel 3D software. These programs enable the design office to define the documents needed to manufacture the electrical enclosures: schematics, terminal blocks, parts lists, component layout, right through to wire layout (wire lengths and routing).

Introduction

The study of electrical cabinets is a key part of the study of an electrical and automation installation.

It can also include the design of low and medium voltage switchboards or cabinets, the creation of a Shelter or the mechanical part of a machine.

The process of designing these cabinets requires a precision and specificity that general 3D mechanical CAD software can’t always offer, or requires a great deal of time.

This article explores the reasons why it is preferable to use software dedicated to electrical cabinets rather than 3D mechanical CAD software such as SolidworksTM, CatiaTM, CreoTM, Autocad 3DTM, SolidEdgeTM, …

We can divide this argument into 2 parts:
